KNOXVILLE –- University of Tennessee, Knoxville, alumna and retired staff member Debby Schriver, author of “In the Footsteps of Champions: The University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers, the First Three Decades,” will talk briefly about the book at a Lifelong Learning event on March 1, prior to the Lady Vols basketball game.

Her talk, to be held at 5:30 p.m. in McClung Museum on the UT Knoxville campus, is being sponsored by the UT Office of Alumni Affairs Lifelong Learning Program. It is free and open to the public.

Reservations won’t be taken, but seating is limited; for planning purposes, registration is appreciated but not required. Sign up at http://footstepschampions.eventbrite.com.

Schriver’s book captures the development of all 11 sports currently offered by the UT women’s athletic department.

Several former Lady Vol athletes from various sports will be present at the event to share their own stories. Copies of the book will be on sale and time will be allowed for autographs.

This event coincides with the Tennessee Classic softball tourney. It’s also just before tipoff for the Lady Vols versus Vanderbilt basketball game, which is at 7 p.m. Gameday parking policies and rates will be in effect.
