More than 60 University of Tennessee employees recently celebrated their completion of training courses to prepare them for career growth and supervisory roles.
Offered through UT Employee and Organizational Development, the free certification classes prepare employees for taking on leadership positions, whether with UT or another employer.
January’s 63 graduates completed and received their supervisory certificates for Part One of the training, which is open to employees interested in completing the 33-hour program.
The curriculum includes classes such as Introduction to Supervision, Creating a Respectful Workplace, and Time Management.
Skills learned in these programs are useful in any workplace. Newly promoted supervisors can find additional management and human relations responsibilities challenging, but by taking advantage of these free programs, employees gain the necessary skills for career growth and a successful tomorrow.
