KNOXVILLE – Nearly 80 Girl Scouts from the Tanasi Council recently spent a morning attending interactive workshops and forums at the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Girl Scouts at Baker CenterThe event, held on Jan. 24, was called “Girl Power: You Can Make a Difference.”
“The Baker Center was pleased to be part of this event, and we hope this is the start of a long-term collaboration with Girl Scouting,” said Alan Lowe, director of the Baker Center. “Together, we can nurture a new generation of informed leaders.”
The Girl Scouts is the world’s largest organization dedicated to helping girls build character and gain skills for success in the real world. Girls Scouts of Tanasi Council Inc., based in Knoxville, has more than 13,000 members in 16 East Tennessee counties.
