"Trouble in Tight Jeans," a collaborative exhibition by printmaking students from the University of Georgia, Athens, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will be presented at Gallery 1010 today through Saturday, Jan. 24.
The work in the exhibition was produced in the UT Knoxville Print Workshop by six students from UGA who collaborated with seven students from UT Knoxville.
Participating students from UGA include Janie Askew, Stephanie Blair, Jackie Davis, Helen Farmer, Brian Hitselberger and Eric Lotzer. Participating students from UT Knoxville include Daniel Maw, Sara Marie Miller, Katie Ries, Jason Shoemaker, Veronica Siehl, Jessie Van der Laan and Ericka Walker. The exhibition will also be presented later this spring at the University of Georgia.
All of the work in the exhibition was created by collaborative, multi-authored processes with more than one artist working on each print. About the project, UT Knoxville graduate student Katie Ries said "it was like finding out you have really cool cousins."
Gallery 1010 is the School of Art’s student-run gallery, located at 113 South Gay Street in Knoxville. Gallery hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
A reception will be held for the exhibition from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at the gallery.
The project was funded through support from the Betsy Worden Endowment in Printmaking. For more info call 974-3202 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
