Learn more about the discovery and excavation of Civil War-era submarine "CSS H.L. Hunley" next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in McClung Museum auditorium.
Maria Jacobsen of Clemson University will lead the discussion on "Excavation of the Civil War Submarine H.L. Hunley-Reconstructing an 1864 Crime Site."
Jacobsen will be introduced by Tom Chaffin, research professor in UT Knoxville’s department of history and author of The H. L. Hunley: The Secret Hope of the Confederacy.
Sales of the book and a book-signing by Chaffin will follow the lecture, which is free and open to the public.
