For the fifth year in a row, incoming freshmen at UT Knoxville have set an academic record. The class of 2012 — expected to be about 4,200 strong — arrives on campus with an average core GPA of 3.76 and a 26.6 average ACT score. Both scores are the highest ever for an entering class.
Students returning to classes this week will see safety enhancements around campus. UT is accelerating its pace in science and engineering by providing MATLAB, Simulink and 54 companion products free to all faculty, staff and students. The UT Office of Information Technology’s MATLAB rollout event is Aug. 27-28 in the University Center Shiloh Room and everyone is invited.
