Ready for the WorldAdministrators from the Sichuan University of China are on the UT Knoxville campus to attend a training program sponsored by the newly-established Tennessee in China Initiative.

The training program, which lasts until Saturday, Aug. 9, is designed to provide Sichuan University administrators with information about various aspects of American public universities like UT Knoxville. Participants include deans from different colleges of Sichuan University.

UT Knoxville administrators making presentations to the group include Interim Chancellor Jan Simek, Interim Provost Susan Martin, vice chancellors Tom Milligan, Denise Barlow, Linda Davidson and Timothy Rogers, and vice provosts Carolyn Hodges and Todd Diacon.

In addition to the formal presentations, the guests also will visit campus colleges and departments to explore possibilities of academic cooperation and student exchanges between the two universities.

Sichuan University is a key partnership university of UT Knoxville in China. The training program is expected to significantly strengthen collaborative relationships between the two universities.
