The risk of developing prostate cancer increases with age, which is why the University of Tennessee and the UT Medical Center are offering an on-site prostate screening program tomorrow from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Student Health Services Building for University faculty, staff or their spouses over the age of 40. Cost is $10.

The screening program includes a digital rectal exam and a blood test called a PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test. Screenings will be completed in about 15 minutes.

This is the one exam you can’t afford to miss! The American Cancer Society recommends that men over age 50 and those over age 40 who have a family history of prostate cancer have a yearly medical check-up and a rectal exam.
