David Schumann, professor of business, has been selected to be the inaugural director of the Tennessee Teaching and Learning Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Created as part of the university’s retention efforts, the center provides assistance to UT faculty in developing better classroom teaching skills.
The first four-year HOPE Scholarship recipients are graduating this week from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The lottery-funded HOPE has helped increase the number of applicants to UT Knoxville, bolstered the academic preparedness of incoming students and allowed the university to increase access by creating need-based scholarship programs.
All UT Knoxville employees and their families are warmly invited to Kickoff to Commencement activities starting at 6:30 p.m. tonight. Events include the traditional Aloha Oe candlelight ceremony, free food and a free outdoor concert by Memphis music group Ingram Hill.
