When the UT Lady Vols basketball squad hosts the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights on Monday, Feb. 11, Thompson-Boling Arena will be filled with pink, the color of ribbons encouraging greater awareness of breast cancer and solidarity with its victims. The teams, playing a rematch of last year’s NCAA women’s basketball national championship game, also are promoting the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s 2008 ‘Think Pink’ campaign aimed at raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses and into communities around the nation.
"We are encouraging all fans to ‘Think Pink’ Monday night and support awareness of this public health issue," said Joan Cronan, women’s athletics director.
