James Fellenbaum, director of the UT Symphony Orchestra since the fall of 2003, has been named resident conductor of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (KSO). His duties will include conducting several out-of-town concerts and the KSO’s annual Young People’s Concerts.
Fellenbaum will continue to conduct UT Orchestra concerts and Opera Theater productions, often in collaboration with the Knoxville Opera Company.
The KSO has contributed to cultural life in East Tennessee since 1935 and performs more than 250 programs each season. The orchestra reaches more than 160,000 people annually.
