KNOXVILLE –- Former U.S. Senator and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist will be in Knoxville on Nov. 9 to speak at two events, both sponsored by the University of Tennessee’s Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy.

First, a Baker Center Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Frist, also a physician, will talk about “Health Care: Back to the Future, 2015.” The luncheon is open to the public, but advance reservations are required no later than Tuesday, Nov. 6. Cost of the luncheon is $15. To reserve a spot, call (865) 974-0931.

Then, at 4 p.m., Frist will give a public lecture about medicine and his work in Africa. The lecture, entitled “Africa: Global Disease and Why It Really Matters,” is free and open to the public. It will be held in the auditorium of UT’s University Center.
