KNOXVILLE –- Czech Republic Ambassador Petr Kolar will share his experiences and discuss U.S.-Czech Republic relations on Thursday at a luncheon at the University of Tennessee.

The event, which begins at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the UT Visitors Center is sponsored by UT’s Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy and the Tennessee World Affairs Council in Cookeville.

Prior to becoming ambassador, Kolar was a foreign affairs correspondent with a number of Czech dailies and magazine.

He also was an academic, most recently focusing on contemporary history, current international conflicts and relations between small and large states. As a guest researcher at the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo, he participated in an international research project entitled “The Superpowers and International Systems.”
