The Southern Association for Institutional Research (SAIR) has awarded UT’s Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) with top honors for its 2006-2007 e-Fact Book.

UT OIRA representatives with SAIR prizeUT won first place for "Best Electronic Fact Book" in front of more than 400 people at the SAIR 2007 Annual Conference awards breakfast held earlier this month.

Comprised of 14 state organizations, SAIR aids in improving and advancing research and provides a forum for spreading information and the interchange of ideas concerning problems of common interest. SAIR also promotes the development of individuals who desire to engage in institutional research.

Each year, SAIR awards institutions on their Print Fact Books, e-Fact Books and mini Fact Books. These fact books provide information about the university to students, faculty and staff.

Contributors to the project were Interim Director Donald Cunningham, Fact Book Editor Lynn Zorn and CD Production and Webmaster Mozhgan Shahidi.

"It’s wonderful to be recognized amongst such fine institutions," said Senior Research Assistant Lynn Zorn of the OIRA. "If people haven’t looked at the Fact Book, it might help them with their needs and interests."

"We are very excited to be recognized by our fellow institutional researchers for producing an outstanding electronic Fact Book," said Associate Director Donald Cunningham of the OIRA, "but our focus is to provide the university community with meaningful data in an easy to use format."

The UTK e-Fact Book is presented in Adobe PDF format and is easily navigable when using the "Contents" within the bookmark pane.
