Larry McKay, a professor in UT’s Earth and Planetary Sciences department, will spend the next year traveling across the country and around the world as the Geological Society of America’s Birdsall-Dreiss Distinguished Lecturer for 2008.
Aspiring chefs exploring a career in food preparation, professional cooks wanting to hone their skills and anyone serious about cooking are invited to enroll in the new Culinary Institute at the University of Tennessee.
The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. will meet at 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 17, on the Knoxville campus. The meeting will be held in the eighth floor board room of Andy Holt Tower, located on Lake Loudoun Boulevard.
The executive and compensation committee of the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will meet in Nashville on Wednesday, September 19. The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. CDT in the offices of Boult Cummings Conners & Berry, PLC, 1600 Division St., Suite 700.
In an effort to add more apartment-style housing to its residence hall offerings and to meet the demand of a growing student body, UT will seek approval for plans to purchase the Knoxville Place development near campus.
