The Commission on Colleges was founded in 1912 to develop standards and a process for accrediting colleges and universities in the South.

Today the commission is the recognized regional accrediting body for institutions of higher education in the 11 southern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia) and Latin America that award associate, baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees.

Diddle is a CPA and owner of her own firm. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from UT.

As 2006-07 president of UT’s nearly 300,000-member alumni association, Diddle leads the group in its efforts to engage and involve alumni with the university.
