Hosted by veteran journalists Brooke Gladstone and Bob Garfield, On the Media decodes what the public hears, reads and sees in the media every day. Through careful reporting and critical insight, the program helps listeners understand the influence the media can have on culture and society.

Topics have included national and international coverage of the developments during the Iraq War, the 2000 Presidential election, media merger mania and how the media performed in response to the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.

Listener-supported WUOT 91.9 FM is a 100,000-watt station broadcasting from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
