KNOXVILLE — Dr. Kenneth L. Stoner, a nationally recognized expert in the field of university housing, will join the University of Tennessee in March as interim assistant vice chancellor for student affairs and executive director of university housing.
Stoner will join the UT administration after more than 20 years of service at the University of Kansas, most recently as director of student housing.
Stoner was one of only two individuals recognized by a Southern Association of College Student Affairs research project as an expert in all four areas of housing administration — residence education, physical plant/maintenance, business/fiscal management and dining services.
-We are pleased to have a housing professional of Ken-s caliber join our staff,- said Tim Rogers, vice chancellor for student affairs. -His first priority will be to provide our residents and housing staff the leadership and support necessary to continue the great tradition for which university housing has become known.-
Stoner received a bachelor-s degree in physical sciences from Kansas State University, a master-s degree in college student personnel from Iowa State University and a doctorate in educational administration from UT. He has served as editor of the Journal of College and University Student Housing and as president of the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International.
