Knoxville — Dow Chemical Company will serve up plenty of steamed crawfish, potatoes and corn for College of Engineering students, faculty and staff at the Dow Crawfish Boil on Tuesday, March 23. The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the courtyard between Ferris and Perkins Halls on the UT campus.

Dow Chemical sponsors the Crawfish Boil yearly as part of its program to recruit prospective employees and to strengthen relations between the College of Engineering and the corporation. The crew from Dow delivers the crawfish straight from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and lines of eager diners form early. The event is co-hosted by the Engineering Development Office.

UT alumni employed by Dow also attend, and it provides them with an opportunity to talk to current students about their engineering careers at Dow.

“The Dow Crawfish Boil is an event that everyone in the college enjoys,” said Cathy Dodge, engineering development director.

“We appreciate the ongoing support that Dow Chemical provides our college, and the Crawfish Boil offers a great opportunity for students to network with Dow representatives, and for our faculty, staff and students alike to enjoy good food and fun.”
