The Cultural Attractions Committee and the Women’s Coordinating Council sponsor the event.

“This event is a great cultural opportunity for students to see and hear one of the world’s most spectacular performers,” said Ron Laffitte, director of student activities.

Shankar has studied the sitar since she was 9 years old and has performed professionally since she was 13. She has toured worldwide solo and with her father. Her work with her father in his CD “Full Circle/Carnegie Hall 2000” captured this year-s World Music Grammy.

Concert admission is $5 for students, $15 for faculty and staff, and $20 for general admission. Tickets may be purchased from Tickets Unlimited or the UT Central Ticket Office, located on the first floor of the University Center.
