KNOXVILLE — Dr. Mark Luprecht has been named the new head of the University of Tennessee Honors Program. The appointment is effective August 1.
Luprecht was associate professor of humanities at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He served as director of the university-s humanities program from 1997-2001.
He received the bachelor-s and master-s degrees in comparative literature from the University of Wisconsin and the Ph.D in humanities from Florida State University.
“We are delighted to have a scholar of Dr. Luprecht-s caliber as director of our honors program,” said Chancellor Loren Crabtree. “His background in theater, literature and psychology and his distinguished record both as a professor and administrator make him uniquely qualified to fill this key position.”
