KNOXVILLE — University of Tennessee College of Law administrator Dr. Karen Britton has been chosen to lead a national group that promotes law school recruitment and career planning.

Britton, the director of admissions, financial aid and career services in the college of law, was chosen as president of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) during their annual education conference in Orlando, Florida in April. Britton will serve a one-year term of office.

UT Law Dean Tom Galligan said this is good news for Britton and for the university.

“The NALP’s selection of Britton is a testament to her expertise in student recruitment,” Galligan said. “It’s a great honor for her and for the UT College of Law.”

The NALP provides information for legal career planning and recruitment, and includes nearly 200 ABA-accredited law schools and 1,100 legal employers among its members.
