KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee will host a symposium titled “Emotions That Matter: The Role of the Emotions in Creating and Judging Values” on March 6 and 7.

The symposium features scholars from the sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities, and will include presentations by Charles Altieri, Professor of English at the University of California, Berkeley; Jaak Panksepp, Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo; and Jon Elster, Robert K. Merton Professor of Social Sciences at Columbia University.
