UT’s fall 2001 application deadline for undergraduate admissions has been extended to Tues., Jan. 16.

Admissions Director Marshall Rose said the original deadline date was Jan. 15, but UT and many other schools will be closed that day for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

The Admissions Office will honor mailed application forms postmarked by Jan. 16, Rose said. Students also may submit forms by Jan. 16 to UT Admissions, 320 Student Services Building.

Applicants still can be considered for guaranteed scholarships such as the African American Achievers, Bicentennial, Trustees and departmental scholarships.

A new university admissions policy this year established a Nov. 1 early acceptance application deadline. It also moved the regular admissions deadline to Jan. 15 from June 1.

May 1 is the deadline for students to confirm their admission. After May 1, those on a waiting list will be admitted on a space-available basis.
