Knoxville – University of Tennessee microbiologist Habib Zaghouani will discuss the human immune system at this week-s Pre-game Showcase lecture from the UT College of Arts and Sciences.
Zaghouani will share some of his department-s work on T-cells, which are essential to the human body-s ability to fight off infection, but are implicated in auto-immune disorders, when the body attacks its own nerves and joints.
The presentation will be held in the University Center Shiloh Room at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, and is free to the public.
