MARTIN, Tenn. – Dr. Nell Gullett, professor of accounting, finance and economics at the University of Tennessee at Martin, has been appointed as chair of the UT Martin Athletics Board by Chancellor Philip W. Conn.
Gullett will serve a one-year term, which began June 1. She will also act as Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) for UT Martin.
As the FAR, Gullett will be responsible for promoting athletics relationships with other colleges and universities in verifying the eligibility of student-athletes.
-I am extremely enthusiastic and optimistic concerning the future of intercollegiate athletics at UT Martin,- Conn said. -We have an outstanding group of coaches and student-athletes, and the work of the Study Commission on the Role and Funding of Intercollegiate Athletics provides a sound -blueprint- for enhancing our program.-
Gullett served as a member of the Study Commission on the Role and Funding of Intercollegiate Ahtletics.

Gullett replaces Phillip Miller, who plans to retire later this month, as the chair of the UT Martin Athletics Board.
