MARTIN, Tenn. — The name of retired University of Tennessee-Martin chancellor Margaret Perry soon will be permanently associated with the campus children’s center.

A plaque designating the facility the Margaret Perry Children’s Center will be unveiled in ceremonies at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12. The public is invited.

The UT Board of Trustees voted in June to name the center for Perry in appreciation for her contributions to UT-Martin and UT.

The center, which serves approximately 100 children, includes more than 9,000 square feet of floor space. It was constructed for $500,000 by physical plant staff at UT-Martin. User fees are paying the cost.
