KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Darrell Russell, Memphis architect and University of Tennessee graduate, has endowed two scholarships at UT-Knoxville.
One of the awards is the William I. and Sarah E. Russell Scholarship, named in honor of Darrell Russell’s parents, who live in Union City, Tenn. It is for first-year students entering UT-Knoxville.
The second award is the Darrell Russell Scholarship for first-year students majoring in architecture of interior design at UT-Knoxville.
Gerald C. Ragghianti Jr. of Arlington, Tenn., is the 1998-99 recipient of the William I. and Sarah Russell Scholarship. He plans to major in physics.
Brian Wark of Kenmore, New York, is the 1998-99 recipient of the Darrell Russell Scholarship.
Russell is a principal in the Memphis architectural firm of Looney, Ricks, and Kiss. His honors include a 1997 Southern Home Award sponsored by “Southern Living” magazine and the Builder’s Choice Project of the Year Award in 1994.
