KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — More than 85 papers from the United States and 10 other nations will be presented May 11-14 at a University of Tennessee conference on maintenance and reliability.
The conference is for engineers, technicians, researchers, and executives from industry, universities and research organizations.
Charles Bailey, vice president of Eastman Chemical Co., will deliver the keynote address, “Future Trends in Industrial Maintenance,” at 10 a.m., May 12, in the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Hosting the conference will be UT-Knoxville’s Maintenance and Reliability Center, created three years ago to use research and technology to help the center’s member companies reduce losses caused by equipment downtime.
The UT-based center is a partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the University of Alabama.
Associates of the center include Alcoa, Dow Corning Corp., Duke Energy Corp., Eastman Chemical Co., Honeywell, Inc., Nissan Motor Manufacturing Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., Saturn Corp., and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
