KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Richard Scott Padgett of Big Sandy is among the top graduates scheduled to participate in commencement exercises Dec. 20 at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Padgett, the son of Dick and Diane Padgett, Big Sandy, is top graduate in the College of Engineering. He majored in chemical engineering.
Top graduate honors go to the students with the highest grade point averages in their respective colleges. A minimum grade point of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale is required.
Padgett’s other honors and activities include Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society, Whittle Scholar, and a 1996-97 Chancellor’s Citation.
