KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– Visitors to the University of Tennessee-Knoxville’s academic open house Oct. 10-11 can take a tour of Mars and the universe, pick up parenting tips, and enjoy a performance by the UT Brass Ensemble.

The open house, in UT-Knoxville’s new College of Law Building, will feature displays and demonstrations by approximately 20 academic departments.

Chancellor Bill Snyder said the event is an opportunity for the public to learn more about campus programs.

“This open house will help show the people of Tennessee the quality of the UT faculty and how the state’s investment in the university benefits the economic, cultural and social life of our state,” Snyder said.

The UT Singers will open Friday’s program at 3:30 p.m. Friday’s visitors will hear faculty presentations on Mars, the universe, spiders, child and family issues, and East Tennessee in the Civil War.

Free parking will be available on Friday in the White Avenue parking garage near the law building.

Fans attending the UT-Georgia football game can see the exhibits Saturday prior to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. Guided tours of the law building will be available both days.
