KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee is helping project managers in manufacturing, health care and other fields gain certification for their experience and expertise.

 UT’s Center for Industrial Services and the East Tennessee Chapter of the Project Management Institute are co-hosting nine training sessions for persons planning to take the certification exam for project management professionals.

The sessions will be held on Thursdays, 6-9 p.m., between April 17 and June 19 at Pellissippi State Community College.

 Ron Rader, UT-CIS industrial training manager, said the course helps managers in manufacturing, service, health care and other industries prepare for the Project Management Professionals certification exam.

 The certification is awarded through the Project Management Institute, a management training association established in 1969 in Upper Darby, Pa., with nearly 25,000 members worldwide.
