KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Summer semester top graduates at the University of Tennessee include four Knox County students.

They are Cary Lincoln Bauer, Cheri Lee Cross, Matthew P. Rajkowski, and Judy Lynn Francis.

Top graduates, who must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or above, have the highest marks in their colleges.

UT-Knoxville’s summer graduation is at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, in Thompson-Boling Arena. The commencement speaker is Dr. Alvin Trivelpiece, director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and president of Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corp.

Bauer, a management major, and Cross, an accounting major, are top graduates in the College of Business Administration.

Rajkowski is the College of Communication’s top graduate. Judy Lynn Francis received highest honors in the College of Nursing.

College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources — Stacy Allison Lay, forestry, Hixson.

College of Arts and Sciences — Mitzi Austin Gosnell, human learning and behavior, Hohenwald; Cheryl Ann Leach, English, Morristown; Lisa Renee Wear, mathematics, Sevierville; and Rikki Lynn Nelson, psychology, Huntsville, Ala.

College of Education — Rebecca C. Thompson, special education, Tulsa, Okla.

College of Engineering — Dennis Blair Rippy II, aerospace engineering, Charlotte, N.C.

College of Human Ecology — Kimberley Leigh Bills, child and family studies, Fayetteville; and Elizabeth Ellen Monday, industrial education, Liberty, Ky.
