KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– Funeral services for the associate director of information sciences at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville are scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

Glenn E. Estes, who was also a professor in the School of Information Sciences, died Tuesday at his home after a period of declining health. He was 61.

Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. at St. John’s Cathedral. The family will receive friends at the cathedral following the service.

Estes joined the university faculty in 1967 and served in several academic and administrative positions. His academic interest was literature and library services for youth and children.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; son Todd and daughter-in-law Cheri; son Lane and daughter-in-law Rachel; mother Rita Mae Estes; and sisters Dorothe Estes Finna and Nancie Kaye Lively.
