KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Enhancing educational opportunities for the deaf and those with hearing deficiencies will be the focus of a University of Tennessee conference set for April 17-20.

UT-Knoxville’s Postsecondary Education Consortium will host its seventh biennial conference at the Hilton Hotel in Knoxville.

Practical strategies for providing services to deaf and hearing-impaired people will be explored in workshops covering topics such as career awareness, alcohol and substance abuse, distance learning, case management, educational interpreting and technological opportunities.

Vocational rehabilitation personnel and community agency representatives are encouraged to attend, as well as secondary and postsecondary faculty, staff and administrators.
