KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A canvass of vendors selling unlicensed University of Tennessee merchandise will continue this week, University of Tennessee officials said Thursday.

UT-Knoxville police and Collegiate Licensing Co. will canvass the campus area Saturday before the UT-Georgia football game looking for merchandise containing UT logos or trademarks not licensed by the university, said Sara Phillips, UT director of licensing.

Revenue from the licensing program supports scholarships and student activities, she said.

UT police and staff from CLC will check vendors before home games this fall. Officers will seize unlicensed goods and issue citations to persons violating state law by selling unlicensed merchandise, she said.

“We hope our enforcement efforts will stop the sale of unlicensed merchandise,” Phillips said.
