MARTIN, Tenn. — The first female president of the University of Tennessee-Martin student government returns to campus Aug. 6 to deliver the commencement address.

Rose Boyd Wathen, a technical writer and information systems consultant from Jackson, graduated from UTM in 1981 with a degree in computer science.

Wathen worked seven years at UT-Knoxville, then became a consultant for a Nashville firm and later a systems designer for Telco Research Corp.

UT President Joe Johnson will confer degrees on 136 summer graduates. The program begins at 2 p.m.
