WKRN Nashville reported that the annual workshop held in Nashville allows the National Weather Service and the media to discuss weather topics and how they can work together to communicate with the public. UT professors Lisa Reyes and Kelsey Ellis attended the workshop, to share findings of their current project called “Vortex Southeast,” in conjunction with the severe storms laboratory.

Both Reyes and Ellis debunked some weather myths that people believe, including Tennesseans being protected by hills and rivers.
